1. Most of the transactions post to both ledgers at the same time... That answers your question
i.e. same value is posted to both ledgers simultaneously
2. If you wish, you can post stand alone transactions to Non Leading Ledger using ledger group (with some restrictions).. Like Sub Ledger accounts (Customers, Vendors) cant be posted to only the Non Leading ledgers
3. Transactions like Depreciation, Forex Revaluation etc can be posted to both ledgers independently at the same time
i.e. Different values posted to both ledgers, but posting happenin at the same time
